First Pigtails

Gaitley's hair is pretty long in the back and I have been dying to put it in pigtails. I finally found some little rubber bands and we tried it out. She didn't mind at all me messing with her hair and loved feeling them in the back. We did try to wear them out one day and that didn't work. When I took her out of her car seat, one of the rubber bands was gone. When I took the other one out her hair was just sticking straight out. It was a mess. Her hair is so fine that I'm going to have to find a way to make them stay in better. I guess we'll just wear them around the house for now.

Halloween Pajamas

I got the kids matching skeleton pajamas this year for Halloween. I wanted to do a little photo shoot and get a great picture of them in their pj's. Garrett did a fantastic job and was all about posing for the camera. Gaitley was not in the mood at all to take pictures. She started crying every time I put her out there. I only got one of the two of them. It's not great, but I guess it will do.

Scooters and Superheroes

Gaitley wants to do everything that Garrett does. She had so much fun getting pushed around on his scooter. She's a little daredevil, so it probably won't be too much longer until she is trying to do it all by herself.

Garrett went to a superhero birthday party at the end of September and has worn his mask and cape almost every day since the party. He always likes to wear it outside so it will fly as he runs. I just thought this picture of him with the cape, mask and roller skates was hilarious.

No More Training Wheels

Making turns
Already doing tricks

We have been trying for months to get Garrett to ride his bike without training wheels, but he just refused to try. He is very stubborn! He has been riding a two-wheel scooter for a couple of months and it has really helped his balance, so we knew he could do it. On Sunday night he decided it was time to give it another shot. I held him up and just let him get the feel for it and Gaitley started to fuss. I told Garrett I was going to run inside and get her paci and put her in the stroller so I could help him. I guess he didn't have time to wait because when I came back he was riding up and down the street. He was hollering for me to come watch and I couldn't believe my eyes. He did it all by himself and didn't need any help from me. He caught on very quickly and is already a pro. He has had only a few minor accidents, but nothing too major. Just think, a year ago he was in a cast with a broken leg and now he is riding with no training wheels.

Garrett's First Day of Pre-school

He was so proud of his Spiderman lunchbox.

Garrett's first day of school was today. He goes to Weekday School at First Baptist and absolutely loves it. This is his second year and this is where we go to church, so he is pretty familiar with the place. He is in a class with thirteen other three year-olds and has two fantastic teachers. He was excited to see all of his old friends today and had no problem kissing me goodbye. Gaitley enjoyed walking him to his classroom and I think she was a little sad that he wasn't home to play with her today. His teachers told me he had a great day and he had lots to tell me when I picked him up.

Gaitley's Birthday Party

We've been celebrating Gaitley's birthday for the last month it seems. We had one party in Spearman, but decided she needed another party in Rockwall. On Sunday night we invited a few friends over to help us celebrate. We had another watermelon themed party with a watermelon dress and watermelon cake. She loved having all her little friends over, opening presents and eating watermelon. She preferred the real watermelon over her watermelon shaped cake. I guess I should be thankful she took the healthier of the two, but I wanted a big messy face for pictures. We had a great party and I still can't believe she is already one.

Gaitley's One Year PIctures

We took the kids to Harry Myers Park on Saturday night to take Gaitley's one year pictures. I am so lucky to have such a great photographer for a husband. He got some really great shots.
