Gaitley is 8 months old

This post is a little old. Gaitley turned 8 months old on the 11th, but I'm just getting around to updating my blog. She has grown up so much these past few weeks. She is crawling all over the place and pulling up on whatever she can find. Her favorite place to explore is in Garrett's room. He is really being good about letting her play with his stuff. I was afraid his OCD would kick in and it would drive him crazy. He still hides a few things from her, but overall he lets her have whatever she wants. She is trying all sorts of new foods and has realized that momma's food tastes a whole lot better than her baby food. I hope she continues to want to try new things. Her little personality is starting to come out and she is just so happy. We are so blessed to have such happy kids.
I did take her to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor this week due to not being able to fight ear infections and she is going to have tubes put in her ears on Tuesday. She just keeps getting ear infections and the doctors are putting her on stronger antibiotics, but they're just not working. I'm hoping the tubes will make things so much better for her.

Easter

He concentrated so hard to make each egg look perfect.

Little Easter Bunny
It was pouring down rain on Easter Sunday, so we hunted eggs in the house. It was still lots of fun though.

I think Garrett has found his new favorite holiday, just barely passing Christmas. He loved Easter. We started practicing hunting for eggs weeks ago and he couldn't wait for the real day to arrive. He will let you know that he had four Easters; one at school, one at Mimi's, one at Nanny's and one at church in Spearman. We have more candy than you can imagine and I have been trying to throw away plastic eggs a few at a time since Sunday. I've kept the candy though, mainly for me. Hunting for eggs was his favorite, but he also had so much fun dying them. Nanny had 36 eggs ready just for him. Luckily, we only broke six. He really wanted to bring them back on the airplane but we convinced him that wasn't a good idea.
Gaitley enjoyed her first Easter too. Plastic eggs have become a new favorite toy. She would crawl all over the living room chasing them. She wore her little bunny suit on Sunday and so many people complimented her on the airplane ride back to Dallas.

Bluebonnets

The bluebonnets were beautiful this year, so we had to get some pictures with the kids in them. Garrett and Gaitley were great by themselves, but we never got a good one of them together. We have the hardest time with that. Britt does such a good job taking these pictures. He makes the flowers look like they go on forever in the background.

What a Busy Week

Over the past week, Gaitley has gone from a baby that would stay wherever I left her to one that is all over the place. Last Sunday she went from her belly to sitting and then on Monday she was off and starting crawling. Luckily, we lowered her mattress on Sunday night because now every time she wakes up she wants to sit up and look around. I can't believe how big she is getting. For some reason it seems like time is going by too quickly this time. I was always eager for Garrett to do the next thing and encouraged him to roll over, sit up, crawl and then walk. I guess I just wanted Gaitley to stay little longer and not grow up so fast. Every parent needs to at least have two kids to enjoy what they might have missed out on the first time. Savor those sweet moments with your babies while they are still babies!
