Swim Lessons

Swimming to the wall.
Adjusting his goggles so he can jump in, looks like he might need to fix his shorts too.

Enjoying a sucker after swim lessons.

Garrett took one week of swim lessons this summer and absolutely loved it. He has no fear and was already comfortable putting his head under and jumping in, but I wanted him to learn a few more skills. By the end of the week he was swimming better under water and able to float on his back, this is something I could never even get him to try last summer. Now I'm a little worried he will think he can go to the big pool all by himself. I was really hoping to spend more time in the baby pool with Gaitley.

Gaitley is 10 months old

Standing all alone!

Sweet Kids!

I'm a little late with this post, but Gaitley turned 10 months old on the 11th. She is getting so big! She has started brushing her hair and trying to put bows in and even wants to wear my sunglasses. It's so funny watching her try to do the things she sees done daily. She is standing up alone, but hasn't taken any steps by herself yet. I'm not quite ready for her to walk, but it will probably happen soon. I can't say that I enjoy one child over the other because both of my babies have been wonderful, but I have appreciated all the little things this time.
So far this month has been packed with activities, mainly Garrett's but Gaitley tags along too. We have had swim lessons, Vacation Bible School, and a trip to Galveston. She has been such a little trooper.

So Much Going On

It seems like we have so much going on and I never have time to blog about all the fun stuff we are doing, so this post is going to be a little random.

Garrett and his friend looking for frogs at the Arboretum.

Now, they are playing peek-a-boo out the window. It was the only way I could get them to look at me and smile. It still works with 3 year olds.

Gaitley was enrolled at The Little Gym during the Spring. She liked it okay. She wasn't a big fan of going upside down and flipping, but she loved the bubbles.

Getting her medal from Ms. Courtney.
Enjoying a nice evening in the backyard.
I found a sand and water table in my neighbor's trash. I know that sounds gross, but it was in perfect condition and just needed a little cleaning up. They kids love playing in it.

Garrett riding his scooter after playing in the water. I think he goes through about three outfits per day. He can never seem to keep his clothes dry.

Galveston

Garrett loved collecting seashells.
Trying to jump the waves.
Having fun in the water.
Gaitley loved the ocean.

Gaitley and Jeran.

We took the kids to Galveston over the weekend. We had a wonderful trip! We drove into Santa Fe on Friday night and stayed with Josh and Jennifer Butler and got to meet their sweet baby boy, Jeran. Garrett was a little disappointed when we pulled into their driveway because he thought we were going to the beach, not somebody's house. He woke us up bright and early on Saturday and was ready to go. We played at the beach on Saturday and swam at the hotel pool. This is exactly what Garrett had in mind for a vacation. He was wiped out and fell asleep at 7 on Saturday night. Gaitley went to sleep shortly after, so Britt and I had a nice relaxing evening with no computer. We headed back down to the beach first thing on Sunday and then it was time to come back home. We told Garrett it was time to go home and he said, "but this is our home." I think he would move there in a heartbeat. Overall, it was a great trip. Both kids played hard, loved the water and slept well. We will definitely start doing this every summer.

Our Wedding: June 2, 2001
Random picture, but the only recent one I could fine of just the two of us. It was taken last Halloween.

Happy 8 Years! Wow! Where has the time gone? For those of you who do not know, yes, I married the boy next door. Britt and I have known each other all of our lives. There is one house in between the house I grew up in and his and still is to this day. It sure makes it easy when we travel to Spearman. We played together every day when we were little, dated in high school, and throughout college and have now been happily married for eight wonderful years. I couldn't ask for a better husband, friend and father to our children. I am looking forward to many wonderful years ahead.
